ASP was founded with the goal of developing a qualified body of commercial astronauts. Since its founding, ASP’s offerings have iterated in multiple ways, and continue to do so to more closely match the needs of the human spaceflight industry. In recent years, ASP has focused on collaborations on core technology development projects. To more fully develop a body of commercial astronauts, our membership has designed experiments and technologies that benefit from payload specialist operators. Based on these efforts, members have had the potential to test technology in analog environments and in parabolic flight profiles.
Most recently, ASP has developed a digital platform to coordinate the efforts of its membership and to streamline our members’ ability to access key resources for professional development: education, networking, technology development, and flight opportunities.
As ASP and its membership moves forward, it continues to develop partnerships with launch providers, universities, and commercial training organizations. Within these partnerships, ASP’s members continue to advance core technology capabilities, and are building this set of initiatives into a larger framework of professional development.
ASP recognizes the need for a highly qualified pool of professionals to make major milestones in human spaceflight possible, and will work to harmonize the efforts of industry through the standardization of this talent pool. To make this possible, we are looking for dedicated, qualified students and professionals who can join our community to help advance the human spaceflight industry.
Our mission is to help develop the next generation of commercial astronauts and spaceflight professionals. Join us.
Our current membership offerings are at the Student and Standard levels. We will be launching new member levels soon.
Offering opportunities in project management, professional development, and social connection, ASP is an ideal platform to aid the University student on the academic journey.
The spaceflight professional joins ASP with the goal of advancing their career and furthering a vision for a future in spaceflight.
Disclaimer: Due to the fledgling and dynamic nature of commercial spaceflight, we can make no guarantees that our members will fly in space. Instead, we rely on the fact that our membership is individually motivated and committed to advance the frontiers of human spaceflight and to simultaneously develop their acumen for professional advancement.
Note: Construction on our member pages continues as we launch our new platform. Please continue to check back as we build an integrated workflow.
